S2E2 | “Fighting for Connection: Intimate Partner Violence,” with Jef Slootmaekers

Intimate partner violence is not uncommon in our work with couples, but so often we feel unprepared to assess, address, and support couples whose cycles escalate to the point of physical violence. Join us for an illuminating and rich episode where EFT Trainer from Belgium, Jef Slootmaekers, co-author of Intimate Partner Violence: A Roadmap to De-escalating Violent Patterns, will share insights and his clinical work on how to work with intimate partner violence in our practices.

S2E4 | “The CARE Model” with Dr. Feion Villodas

In Episode 5 of Leaning Into EFT, Dr. Feion Villodas will bring us into the leading edge of the EFT model, introducing and teaching how to apply the CARE model/framework. The CARE model is used to strengthen therapist’s ability to engage emotion and process experience within the context of a client's experience, history (personal and family/intergenerational), and context. Dr. Villodas is an integral part of the EFT community as an anti-racist consultant, and has worked extensively with the EFT community to develop more culturally attuned lenses and interventions in our work with clients in workshops she has offered to EFT therapists at all levels.
S2E5 | “EFT with Collectivist Cultures,” with Ting Liu, PhD

One size does not fit all! In service of being culturally attuned and informed EFT clinicians, what are some considerations when working within collectivist cultures? Hailing from Pennsylvania, EFT Trainer Ting Liu will join us for Episode 5, and will share her wisdom and experience through discussion and sharing her clinical work. Ting’s contributions to the field are numerous, including four books she has translated into Chinese in the fields of MFT and EFT. She has also published several journal articles on different applications of EFT and wrote a chapter on multi-cultural therapy in the EFT casebook, and is currently involved in several outcome studies examining the cultural applicability of EFT to diverse populations. She has trained EFT therapist around the globe, including Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo to name a few!

In this episode, Ali Barbosa, EFT Trainer from Mexico, will bring us into his psychotherapy process with an individual cisgender heterosexual woman of color addressing Racial Trauma and Complex PTSD.
